QR Codes in Property Pages
The Birmingham Post and The Solihull News have introduced QR codes to bring a new dimension to their advertising. The
QR codes, introduced into the two papers on Thursday 8th April and
Friday 9th April, allow readers instant access to full details via their
phones. So far the two papers are using the technology within their
property sections.
"We are always looking for
innovative ways to make our newspapers more relevant to our readers’
lives and allowing them to access property details via their smartphones
merges the medium of print and digital perfectly.
Our
estate agents are excited about the prospect of being able to include QR
codes in their advertising which will enable them to provide potential
home-buyers with instant access to detailed information through their
print advertising. We are able to track the number of views each QR code
receives and the results so far been very encouraging." (Adam Flynn,
Head of Commercial Marketing)
Similar to a barcode,
each QR code is unique for a specific web page. Where readers see a QR
code in the paper, they will be able to instantly view the full details
on their phone.
